We are looking for a dedicated application manager to join our IT department and take over the supervision of our network and software applications. The responsibilities of the application manager include identifying the best applications for the business’s needs, installing the software, and upgrading and repairing the software as needed.
Reporting to / Location: Head of IT & Information Security Officer / Mumbai
Specific duties and responsibilities
- Analyzing business operations and the existing systems and determining which software applications could improve efficiency.
- Researching and procuring software applications that will contribute to the success of the company
- Making recommendations on whether to upgrade the existing systems or install new ones.
- Leading teams of IT specialists in the implementation and upgrading of software systems
- Monitoring the rollout of new software applications to ensure there are no problems.
- Installing, configuring, monitoring and maintaining those applications as and where necessary
- Troubleshooting and resolving any problems with business application software.
- Creating and overseeing protocols and procedures for the use of any new software applications.
- Training employees on the use of any new software applications and maintaining a good work atmosphere.
- Create documentation such as standard operating procedures
- Submit and track tickets, tasks, changes; provide advice, guidance and direction to solution architects and application team
- Reporting on progress of operational issues to senior management, end-users and stakeholders
- Set up procedures and systems for managing and tracking projects
- Oversee the change management process across the organization in all affected areas post-implementation of the project
- Analyze and recommend means of cost reduction, manpower rationalization, increase in operational efficiency, etc
- Ensure Vendor SLAs are being met regularly.
- Coordinating with the Vendor team in case of escalations to get the issues/problems resolved
- Ensure compliance to Application Security
- Coordinate with IT Security Officer to identify and handle any cases of a security breach
Knowledge and skills:
- A bachelor’s or graduate’s degree in programming, computer engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- 5 + years of leadership and applications management experience. Leadership experience should include both project management responsibilities and responsibility for coordinating the efforts of others.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Aptitude and desire to learn new technologies;
- Broad working knowledge of computer networking, software installation, and administration.
- Experience with database management and project management.
- Experience with languages like .net, Java, HTML, WordPress etc.
- Advanced knowledge of current and emerging applications technologies.
- Advanced working knowledge of all aspects of applications development and software package implementation and support.
- Proven ability to work and/or lead in high-performing/ geographically dispersed teams.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills to manage complex process and technology issues.
