BASTION is a product that itself combines insecticides and fungicides for seed treatment; It is made up of four active ingredients, two of which are insecticides (Tiamethoxam and Fipronil) and two fungicides (Fludioxonil and Metalaxil-M) that give it extensive control for various insects and diseases that affect seeds as well as germinated plants. Tiamethoxam is systemic, stomach and contact action; causing rapid inhibition of feeding and movement of insects. Fipronil acts directly on the insect’s nervous system by contact and ingestion. Fludioxinil penetrates the seed and controls pathogens on the surface and inside. It inhibits the development of the mycelium and induces an instantaneous reduction in the absorption of amino acids and sugars, blocking the growth of the fungus. Whereas Metalaxil-M Inhibits protein synthesis by interfering with ribosomal RNA synthesis; It controls fungi of the order Peronosporales: peronosporáceos (fungi that produce root and neck rot, and mildew) and pitiáceos (fungi that produce seedling fall).
